Yoga is an ancient Eastern Indian practice that dates back more than 5,000 years. The word “yoga” came from the Sanskrit word “yuj,” which means, “to unite or integrate.” Yoga is about the union of an individual’s consciousness with the universal consciousness. Similarly, Anne-Marie’s painting system encourages a union of individual expression with a heightened awareness of the chosen subject matter. Anne-Marie’s approach and popular painting workshops resonate with the 40+ audience because of the system’s unifying, integrating components that can affect both life and art. Some of students have even called this painting style “yog-art”.

Anne-Marie’s workshops explore the importance of relaxation and imagination when creating art and provide mental and physical exercises to achieve it. Creative tools are provided to help develop a heightened artistic awareness and sensitivity to the world around you as well as a five-step painting techniques to help translate that awareness onto the painting surface with expression. The painting system's creative mental & physical exercises work together to heighten artistic senses and expand individual prowess as an artist.
